What is worse? marijuana or alcohol
Alcohol by far…there has never been a known case where someone has died directly due to the use of Marijuana, however; Alcohol related deaths are very common.
So why is it illegal, while alcohol isn't?
Dude freakin munchies galore!!
Perfect.
Indeed!
plus, hangovers suck!
You can still get horribly ill from having too much 'Jmonkey' at once
I won't call it an OD as I dont know for sure but my mate put three times the normal amount used for brownies into a mix he made, two people ate them all in the space of 15 minutes and one had a fit or something and had to go to hospital and have his stomach pumped…
I know about whitey-ing, I smoke a lot, but this wasn't a whitey
Because the government really hasn't found a way to tax it. The reason is has such a terrible rep is because of William R. Hurst (who happens to own many MANY magizines, newspapers, etc.) and he went on the "WAR AGAINST DRUGS!" I suggest you watch "Tell Your Children" it's kinda corny….okay really corny, and completely false! the movie was made by Hurst b/c he was losing money when hemp was so popular, you could make paper from hemo, so he lost money b/c it was cheaper to buy hemp paper , so he got mad and made a movie! It will explain some things. Also the book "The Emperor Wears No CLothes" (nott he kids story)is really informative!
Exactly. I would much rather smoke a bunch of pot, have deep conversations, eat a bunch, and fall asleep than drink a bunch of beer, fall and hurt myself, get into a fight, drive a vehicle impared, and die in a car accidend OR die of alcohol poisoning from too much to drink.
Answer originally posted in response to What is worst health wise THC (Marijuana) or alcohol?
Space cakes are dangerous.
Eating pot is a whole different thing to smoking it.
Stick to the joints/bottles/buckets/bongs/pipes/cannys/waterfalls/blowbacks… etc lol
LOL
Naa…m alhigh;)
Definitely alcohol.
Haha all this was hella true.. Which is y weed is better than alcohol..
$50 cheapass booze = 10 drunkass nights + 10 horrible hangovers
———
$50 of beer at a bar = 10 drinks = 2 or 3 buzzed nights
———
$50 of ganj = 15 – 20 excellent highs
———
Do the math
Does anyone think alcohol is safer? Or is this just a selective crowd?
Sahil… ur alright
It will get you arrested. That's a bad thing.
Because the government could no longer effectively tax the sale of it. Read:
The Marijuana Stamp Act; http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1937_Marihuana_Tax_Act
Timothy Leary vs. United States of America; http://www.druglibrary.org/schaffer/History/e1960/learyvus.htm
There's much more to it than that, but that will give you a general idea.
Depends on how you use marijuana but it is definitely safer than alcohol. Alcohol is poison. Marijuana and shrooms are completely safe.
Things must be different where you live compared to here in the SE of England. I could buy enough weed to keep me smiling for a week for less than the cost of 3 beers. I’d still rather have the beer.
I have no idea why I was rated down for expressing my opinion. Every addict has a drug of choice, whether it be alcohol or weed. If someone is high it impairs their ability to react quickly while driving, schooling and can cause lung Cancer. Alcohol is also some people's drug of choice, and it has horrible effects. Every person that uses any substance has side effects..
pot isn't bad for your health. >_<
so is sugar, caffeine, cacao, prescription-drugs etc.
What´s your point? That you want to show everybody you are afraid of what you do not know?
If you use too much of it, it is.
that first part is a myth, and to od on marijuana you would have to smoke youre body weight in it. this would cost a fortune (hundreds of thousands of dollars) and it would take too long to smoke it for it to actually happen, therefore, it IS impossible
1.2 million drunk driving fatalities every year.
http://www.buzzle.com/articles/drunk-driving-statistics.html
This is pretty much what my answer was going to be but I guess it depends what they mean by "worse".
So why is it illegal, while alcohol isn't?
Agreed
alcohol is way worse it kills brain cells marijuana dosent it stimulates them and its a plant alcohol weas man made and could put additives in it
Marijuana impairs judgment and there are many traffic fatalities where the only intoxicant found in the system of the deceased is marijuana so that statement is not entirely true. Marijuana related accidental deaths are quite common.
me too and i have two kids and doing it by myself i have never drank before
Bari english maraha he chawal!
haha. so true.
Alcohol is what the leading cause of death
worse for your helth
@Sarah: I think what the poster means … (and I agree with) … no one has died as a DIRECT result of marijuana, like an overdose … but with alcohol you can die quickly from an overdose or more slowly by destroying your liver … I agree, people die while driving impaired, but that’s more from “poor judgment” than the marijuana itself … people fall asleep behind the wheel, without any drugs in their system, and crash simply from being too tired, but you can’t really say they died from “sleeping” …
Or they could be munching on snacks they'd never have touched without the weed
. Beware the smoke, it makes you hungry!

Does a low tsh cause hair loss?
On One Hand: Low TSH Can Cause Hair Loss
Low levels of thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH) are an indication of hyperthyroidism. Hyperthyroidism, or an overactive thyroid, has a variety of symptoms, including fatigue, increased appetite, irregular menstrual cycles and hair loss. Someone who receives a diagnosis of hyperthyroidism will receive treatment to prevent the thyroid from producing hormones or have her thyroid surgically removed.
On the Other: Hair loss Has Many Causes
Diseases such as diabetes, excessive styling, dying or chemical treatments, stress, scalp infections, certain medications and poor nutrition can all lead to hair loss. There is a genetic component to hair loss as well.
Bottom Line
Only a health-care provider can determine if an overactive thyroid gland is causing hair loss. Have your TSH levels checked to rule out other health conditions, and begin treatment if necessary.

What is pre-funding retirement?
Using a pre-retirement pension can help funnel your pre-tax salary into superannuation, also referred to as a company pension plan. The pre-funding option is open to any person born before July 1960 who is 55 to 59 years old. As of 2010, for those born after June 1964, the maximum age is 60. Pre-funding retirement helps protect assets and ensure that retirees will have money in the bank when they need it most.
Function
Pre-funding is the approach used for pension plans. Some states require that the state pay an annual amount of money to set aside and invest to pre-fund future retirees with pension benefits. This annual pre-funded amount funds the pension system so the money does not run out.
Expert Insight
The pre-funding approach to retiree health benefits avoids shifting costs to future taxpayers. The pay-as-you-go approach for health benefits causes financial risks for taxpayers, whereas the pre-funding system proves to be more economical: In the long term, investment earnings supplement contributions for retiree health costs.
Considerations
The government pays for a level of benefits (health, housing, cost-of-living) with fewer budget resources. The pre-fund approach reduces unfunded bills. Paying more upfront for future retirees reduces costs for the long term.
Time Frame
Partial pre-funding is another option. Because of the high cost of supporting all future retiree costs of current employed citizens, partial pre-funding cuts the risk of future pay increases and reduces budget pressures, without shattering the personal and government finances in the process.
Theories/Speculation
State and local governments know that retirement benefits help attract and retain the talent they need. Most state government in the United States continue to fund retiree health benefits on a “pay-as-you-go” basis while they assess strategies to deal with escalating costs of these plans.

What is the definition of""quality of…
Quality care equates to a quality life in long-term nursing home facilities. Health care services must provide a skilled staff and compassionate care to provide residents the highest quality of life. Maintaining the dignity of and respect for each individual is paramount as he or she enters this new phase of life.
Significance
As of 2009, 1.5 million residents lived in American nursing homes, as reported by the “Advancing Excellence in America’s Nursing Homes” campaign. Research published by the RAND Corporation indicates that the nursing home population will to rise by 10 percent to 25 percent into the 2020s.
Staffing
An adequate and qualified staff-to-resident ratio is important, according to recommendations provided by the “Advancing Excellence in America’s Nursing Homes” campaign. Low staff turnover rates are preferred. Facilities should require “consistent assignments” (regular care by the same staff member) to provide stability and familiarity.
Basic Care Needs
Residents should be encouraged to take part in their own basic needs as much as possible. Maintaining a sense of independence plays an important role in staving off depression and a sense of hopelessness, both of which lower residents’ quality of life and may lead to other health problems.
Minimizing Bed Sores and Pain
A common problem during long-term care is pressure ulcers, or bed sores. Prevention and immediate treatment should be standard practice. Effective health problem diagnosis and treatment of pain will increase quality of life.
Activities
Activities are essential. Lack of physical movement has a multitude of negative consequences for residents: weakened muscles, stiffness and depression. Social interaction and activities provide new friendships and increased enjoyment of daily life.
Assessing Satisfaction
Resident and family satisfaction should be routinely monitored and taken into consideration when implementing improvements in service and care. The quality of care and service can vary greatly between nursing home facilities. The Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services has established a “Five-Star Quality Rating System” in order to provide patients and their families a rating system to compare nursing home quality.

Can you catch polio from a polio vaccine?
There are two polio vaccines available. The polio shot, inactivated polio vaccine or IPV, will not cause polio. The live, oral polio vaccine, or OPV, results in 1 in 2.4 million contracting the disease. OPV is currently not recommended in the United States, but it is still used in many countries throughout the world.

What happens when you have toxemia?
Toxemia, also known as preeclampsia, is a pregnancy condition characterized by the presence of high levels of protein in your urine and high blood pressure readings. It usually appears after your 20th week of pregnancy.
Cause
Possible causes of toxemia include damaged blood vessels, an immune system problem and poor blood flow to the uterus.
Symptoms
Symptoms of toxemia can appear suddenly and include severe headaches, dizziness or vision changes.
Complications
Toxemia can affect the blood flow to the placenta, possibly causing the baby harm in the form of slowed growth and preterm birth. Uncontrolled toxemia can lead to other health problems, such as cardiovascular disease and seizures.
Diagnosis
Toxemia is usually detected during a routine office visit to your OB. Your blood pressure and urine is checked at each visit, and the doctor will become aware of any abnormal changes in the readings.
Treatments
Depending on how far along the pregnancy is, the best cure is delivering the baby. If this is not possible, bed rest and various medications may be prescribed to try and lower your blood pressure.

What does magnesium have to do with the human…
Magnesium is of key importance to human health. It participates in over 300 enzymatic reactions in the body. A deficiency has been linked to conditions such as irregular heart beat, asthma, emphysema, cardiovascular disease, high blood pressure, mitral valve prolapse, stroke and heart attack, diabetes, fibromyalgia, glaucoma, migraine, kidney stones, osteoporosis, and probably many more. Magnesium is particularly important when it comes to ensuring the health of the heart and bones. About 99% of the body's magnesium stores are found in the bones and tissues and heart tissue is particularly rich in this important mineral. About half of the body’s magnesium stores can be found in bones, so it is clearly a very important mineral as far as osteoporosis prevention is concerned.Only 1% of the body's magnesium is actually present in the blood so a standard blood analysis is a very poor way of determining overall magnesium status.
